Explanation:
The coupler bar (green) has
points B and D each having a straight part in their coupler curve. The rockers
(blue) have a dwell when point B or D respectively pass the straight part.
These dwells alternate, see the motion diagram of the xcoordinates. Point K
shows that other coupler points have not the property of a straight line.

curvature of the coupler curve is exactly zero. This has been done in the
